Little Ramcharger: Thanks to Terry Earwood

Here's a picture from Atlanta $10,000, 1966 (See THEN Photo section of this web site)
Bill drove Larry Lawrence's '65 AFX, and let me drive the Lil Ramcharger. This was my 'debut' in a real drag car, and the first time most of us had seen a Christmas tree, which was made by Harold Springs, best friend of Julius Hughes, who owned Atlanta Speed Shop.
I met the Fermier Brothers in the final, and missed third gear (you never forget your big mistakes!!). I came back and won the second round. (Back then, we raced 'Round Robin') at least 2 complete rounds each eliminator. I guess 'buy backs' has taken it's place...
I drove this car on the street for a couple of weeks trying to justify buying it from Bill. And won 'gas money' at night with it. But with a new baby, even I couldn't convince myself it was the right thing to do.
There was another D Dart in Atlanta, owned by 'Peavy Concrete', I think. He never beat us...
